Writing reminders is such a (not so guilty) pleasure of mine. You'll always find me with a pad of sticky notes, lots of pens, and a list (or five). But every once in a while, we fall into the same patterns when writing reminders and end up actually forgetting the tasks we need to complete. The solution? Variety! Keep reading to find out how to mix up your reminder game so that you can keep track of all you have to do!
1. Stick post it notes everywhere
I have more post it notes than I even know what to do with. That's okay though because I write all sorts of reminders on them and stick them just about everywhere. In books, on my desk, on my computer, in my planner - wherever I am you'll find post its with me and chances are I have something written down on them. I purposely stick them in lots of different places that way they always catch my eye, and it helps because when I notice the reminders, I'm more motivated to complete the task. I love hanging these on my desk hutch because they are in eyesight, and I hate having clutter around. I always feel accomplished when I get to take down those post it notes and throw them out!
2. Plant a whiteboard where you will see it
In my dorm room, I have a whiteboard and dry erase markers hanging on the wall next to my door. This is great for writing reminders that you want to see on your way out, as well as sharing notes with your roommate. Right now, my friends are loving using the whiteboard for pictures and leaving messages, but having this right by my door means that I will always look at it before heading out of my room.

3. Use your phone's features
One of my favorite things to use on my phone is the Reminders app from Apple. I consistently write down reminders on my phone, which is perfect when I'm making shopping lists, grocery lists, or anything that is useful to me while I'm out and about. You can even see alarms on the Reminders list so that you can get notified to complete one of those tasks, which I love!

4. Computer desktop sticky notes
On your computer desktop, you can add virtual sticky notes. I like to use these to coordinate and list things that I may need to get done while I'm on the computer - online shopping, emails to send, or online media for Theta. They are super handy and great for when I randomly think of tasks I have to complete while sitting on the computer (probably scrolling Facebook).

5. Make a list
When it comes down to it, traditional lists are one of my favorite ways to stay organized. I wrote a whole blog post about how I make my lists, and I think that this is such a standard - a classic handwritten to-do list can never go wrong. I might be guilty of adding funny things like 'shower' and 'eat dinner' to the list for the sake of crossing things out, though. There's nothing quite so satisfying like crossing out an item on your list once it's complete!
