Merry Christmas Eve! Tonight I am headed to my aunt and uncle's house to enjoy the Feast of the Seven Fishes, which is an Italian Christmas Eve tradition. It's my favorite night of the whole year and has the best food, good company, and great vibes. While I will hopefully be eating lots of cannolis for dessert tonight, I wanted to share my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe in case you are baking today.
This image is of a chain letter that was sent around probably sometime in the 80s. My mom has had this recipe (this exact image) printed out and in her baking recipe book for years and I always thought the story at the top of the page is so funny!
In the spirit of helping share this recipe with as many people as possible, I wanted to post it today for you all so that you can bake some delicious holiday cookies today. I swear these are the absolute best chocolate chip cookies I have ever tried. They are so soft and will stay soft for days if you put a slice of bread in the container with the cookies. They are also perfect for mixing in other toppings -- one year a friend and I made 12 dozen cookies with different mix-ins ranging from cranberries to white chocolate chips.
I hope you enjoy this recipe and have a happy holiday season!
