I've been using this L'Oreal Lash Paradise mascara for a little while now, and I have been meaning to post my thoughts about it to share with you all. This mascara is widely considered a dupe for the Too Faced Better than Sex mascara, but for only a fraction of the price.
I like the packaging of this mascara, and it really does look like the Too Faced one. The tube is skinny and sleek, so it doesn't take up a lot of space. I also like that this is part of the Voluminous line, which is my favorite for drugstore mascaras even before I tried this one.
I wish that the product came in more colors (I always try to get Blackest Black or Carbon Black but I couldn't find either in this formula). I also notice that this mascara is harder to find in my makeup bag, whereas some of the other Voluminous mascara tubes are a bit larger or chunkier.
The overall effect that this mascara has on my lashes is really nice. I think my lashes look long, full and well-coated after applying this mascara. The wand isn't plastic, so it is a lot softer on the eyes and doesn't hurt or poke when you are applying. The downside of the wand (and maybe also the way the tube is designed?) is that every time you pull the wand out, there is so much extra mascara clumped on the brush that you then have to wipe off. I feel like this is wasteful and potentially dangerous if you end up with a glob of mascara in your eye. You can kind of see the excess I am talking about in the pictures below, and you can also see what I look like with the mascara on, via silly selfie.
To be fair, I have naturally long eyelashes to begin with and very dark hair. Just about any mascara I use works decently well for me because my lashes are pretty nice to begin with. I have no issues with the Lash Paradise mascara, except for the globs of product on the end of the wand, and the almost-too-sleek packaging. This is a nice mascara that defines my lashes well and lasts all day. I just don't find it to be any sort of miracle mascara. Once I use up this tube, I will probably go back to my old favorite, the L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes mascara.
